Baseball Rumors Braves

 

Ralph Waldo Emerson, once said, “Fear always springs from ignorance”. Fear is always present in one’s longevity if he/she lacks knowledge of the word itself, which means ignoring something will always cause you to be intimated. Until an action is taken to triumph your anxiety, then that fear will continue to control you throughout your existence. In both the novel Fences, written by August Wilson and Lord of the Flies, written by William Golding the statement is recognized as true statement; and I strongly agree with the acknowledgment contributed in the quotation.

 

In the literary Fences, Troy Maxson who is the father of Cory Maxson encounters his biggest challenge with fear. The childhood that Troy experienced weren’t the most pleasant memories to have experienced and the fear continued to control him for withholding the burden of his father’s wrongs. Troy’s dreadful childhood has to do with the time period he was living in and his dreams of becoming a baseball player never got fulfill because of the racism that was going on around his time period. The fear that Troy is facing is that he can’t stand to see his own son become greater than him, he doesn’t want to witness him become what he never was. The theme of the story is that if you don’t stand up to your fears, then it will continue to threaten you every single day of your life. Troy held on to his past and never learned to detach from it and that’s what lead him to his demise.

 

Fear is taken into effect in Lord of the Flies because a group of young gentlemen are isolated on an island after an airplane crashed and they must either unite or divide. After of couple of days of staying on the island fear has taken over the mind of a few individuals and made them paranoid. The young men that became delirious became that way because of ignorance, instead of getting to know one another they feared each other without having any knowledge of each other. Out all the juveniles on the island only one individual faced his fear and that was Simon. There has been a rumor stating that there is a beast type creature on the isle and Simon was the only who actually had the courage to go explore the island to find out what that thing was. Simon is characterized has a brave person and that character caused something horrible to happen to him. What makes this literature so ironic is how he got killed because the kids on the island misapprehended for the beast and annihilated him with spears.

 

In both literatures fear controlled the mind of each individual, but not everyone handled it well. Fear always spring from knowledge and if you lack that knownledge on the word “fear”, then you will always live in fear. Ignoring something will always cause you to be intimated and until an action is taken to triumph your anxiety, then that fear will continue to control you throughout your existence. The one’s who fought with their anxieties has had a change in their character and the one’s who didn’t continue to experience the same problems everyday. The same problems continue to build up and consume them internally. You either ignore it or fight it.
